What's New

Mandan Museum & Society Office

Office Hours:  Hours by appointment until August 2.  We are recuiting additional office volunteers. If you would like to help, contact us at 701-667-1260.

The Society is moving from our current 450 sq ft museum and office in downtown Mandan to across the street into 900 sq ft in the NP Beanery Building at 411 West Main St.  We will open in our new location with regular hours of operation starting Saturday August 2.

Deep appreciation is extended to these community minded businesses for assisting with current office setup costs.

The Mandan City Commission has approved the Mandan Progress Organization leasing the building and subleasing portions to the Mandan Art Assocation and the Mandan Historical Society.

Moving to a new site will require a commitment of both money and volunteer time to make the move successful.  Please help us with a contribution of either your time or financial support.  Contact us
info@mandanhistory.org or
via telephone.
Consistent with our Strategic Plan, the Society is moving to a larger museum space in July 2008.  Our intent is to become Mandan's third historically-relavant destination.  Typical early museum funding sources are a mixture of endowment/foundation earnings (40%), grant money (20%), local funding (30%) and admission fees (10%).  An Endowment Fund has been established and regular fundraising events will be necessary provide a steady source of funding.   Access information on this Fund at our webpage http://www.mandanhistory.org/endowmentfund.html
