Sarah Esther (Gurtner) Tostevin, wife to local newspaper owner/co-editor Edwin Dodge Tostevin, authored the book Mantani: A History of Mandan and Morton County, 1738-1964 based largely on accounts reported in The Mandan Pioneer and other local newspapers.
The hardcopy book was published in 1964 by the Mandan Chamber of Commerce.
With the Tostevin family's permission, its electronic copy is provided via the link above for viewing or downloading for private, NON-COMMERCIAL use. If additional rights are desired, the Mandan Historical Society will gladly place the party in touch with the Tostevin family member(s).
