The members of the ND Railroad Museum have also offered a portion at the southeast corner of their property to the Society to constuct a building of our own, located directly east of the new depot. The site is along the fenceline and would have direct access to 30th Avenue NW. The only restriction is the architectual style needs to be consistent with a railroad theme.
Based on our experience with the operation of a museum at the NP Beanery, a building with at least 1200 feet of floor space would be required. The Board of Directors expects to establish an exploratory committee to indentify potential funds and coordinate our response to the opportunity. The topic will be a main focus of the discussion at the November 2011 annual membership meeting.
